Santa ate the Oreos and milk Whitney left out for him, but she was alarmed that she forgot to leave out carrots (as promised in her note) for the reindeer. Randy actually fed carrots to the horse next door (which seemed rather random at the time) so I think it still makes for good JuJu.
Santa complied with Whitney's wishes and covered all his gifts with blankets so as to hide them from the kids on Sunday morning.
We had ooey, gooey cinnamon rolls for breakfast on Christmas morning.
We had a great morning at church and came home feeling uplifted from the talk the bishop gave (I definitely needed to hear it) and the great music. I tortured the kids by making them pose for a self-portrait when we got home, they were dying to go in to open presents.
We all changed clothes and began the opening of the presents. The kids were definitely surprised to find the keyboard.
Landon was happy with his BYU basketball jersey.
And the cash he found in his stocking.
Landon is so sweet, he kept stopping to say thank-you and to say that just the stuff from Santa was enough!
Whitney did not share his sentiments! She likes to keep the presents coming (I'm like that too!).
We gave randy a couple new ties (he asked for some).
We love Rango!
Whitney made this calendar at school. It has all the family birthdays inside along with great illustrations for us to enjoy year round.
Landon typed up a list of 25 things he loves about me. This kid has a way of going right to my heart.
Landon made thoughtful coupons as a present for Whitney. They involve doing many of her much-disliked jobs.
Kristi sent me this awesome book full of tons of awesome good mail photos.
Landon gave me this double layered cup full of Twix.
Prior to Christmas, Whitney went through the Toys-R-Us catalog and circled everything she wanted (which was a lot), but when I asked her what one item she would want the most she chose this Journey Girl (which we all think looks just like Bella).
Randy got me a new body for camera!!! A couple pedicure gift certificates and a huge box full of my favorite Lehi Roller Mills Raspberry Muffin Mixes.
We went from not being able to find it anywhere to being very well stocked.
My parents, Lori, Robyn and her kids came over for a lunch of all our Christmas Eve leftovers.
It was tight quarters.
We had the tasty vanilla cream pie I made and the Egg Nog Christmas Cake Randy made.
Cute picture of Robyn and Olivia.
Andrew was "thrilled" to be at our house.
The gift for my parents was waiting for us when we returned home from their house on Christmas Eve so we were able to give it to them on Christmas. I was just bummed because a big part of the gift was setting it up for them and I would have liked to have done that on the day I gave it to them. (Instead I drove out there and did it on Tuesday.)
After everyone left we enjoyed a mellow afternoon of reveling in the Christmas goodness and talking to Randy's dad on the phone.
**How was your Christmas?
What was your favorite gift?**
Comment Window Tidbit: We still don't have any snow! We had a record high temperature of 53 degrees today! What is going on?!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your family!!
I love how simple gifts like Cheese Its make your kids happy :o)
I love the honesty that Whitney wrote in her note that she did not want to go to church!! HA!!! But, glad it was a good family decision!
I hope you have enjoyed your Christmas break from work too!!!
Okay, I want to hear more about the Roku, and more about the camera body you got.
Does the roku work well?
Also, I just have to say that Rango was on the TOP of my Worst movies in 2011 list so I think it hilarious that we differ so in opinions. This is so funny to me and so awesome. I'm glad you like it!
It's fun to catch up with you Jill. Thanks for the post.
We had a grand Christmas. Each of the kids gave everyone three of their favorite things for the year, so I got lots of favorites.
Jill!
It is so great to see you here... missed you
ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT IS THE BOOK!!!!
i'VE already been on amazon & barnes & noble looking for my own copy-- that is so cool.
Christmas day on a Sunday was so extra special. It was wonderful to hear & think about Christ on His day.
My favorite gift-- talking to JACK!!!
He comes home in less than 100 days!!!!
Is your new cup a Tervis? I got a Tervis tumbler filled with chocolate on Christmas!
"My" favorite gift was acually for Kim, a large canvas portrait of us with Eliot as a newborn. I also feel like it's a gift that my brother is in town visiting and that for the 1st time ever we stayed home on Christmas Day this year and didn't have to go from house to house.
I love Landon's 25 things gift to you, you know how I feel that makes such a special gift of time and thoughtfulness.
I was musing about the lack of snow today, too. so weird for us.
I love that the kids got a keyboard. It's so fun when there is a big surprise like that.
Landon is such a sweet boy - what a thoughtful gift!
I love that the kids spent their money getting us gifts this year. They usually buy for each other, but not us. It was sweet.
HOORAY for a new camera!!
It looks like you had a great Christmas. I loved that it was on a Sunday this year even though most people probably didn't.
Landon is a sweetheart and I would kill to get a gift like that from one of my kids!
We had the same cinnamon rolls for breakfast also. It was also one of the few times we were happy we have 1:00 church so that we didn't have to wait to have Christmas.
Our Christmas was really fun. My favorite gift was my IPad.
We had the same cinnamon rolls for breakfast. They were so yummy.
Love your roller mill gift!
My favorite gift was the HGTV design program I got for my computer. Along with watching my girls open their Kindles.
I have that Good Mail book! My mom bought it for me last year!
I love your living room, Jill. I want to live there. :(
Whitney looks great in that family self-portrait.
I almost bought a Roku, but I needed a dvd player as well so I got a wifi thingamabob. Now I wish I had a way to stream my iTunes purchases without having to hookup my laptop to my tv. Technology...
