1. I started the new year out just how I wanted to by getting up early(ish) and going for a walk. I am determined to get at least 11,000 steps a day on my pedometer (I love that thing) and since we don't have any snow or ice it was easy to go. Hooray!
2. After our Yadies Yunch with Michelle and Eva, Adam and Amy and the girls came over to play games. I was very happy about this because we hadn't been able to get together for awhile. We played Quiddler and finally figured out Dominion, which ended up being very fun. Too bad it was a school night otherwise they would have stayed later.
3. On Tuesday evening I was about to drop Whitney off at dance when I realized I needed about 3000 more steps for the day so I quickly changed my clothes, dropped her off, then went up to the pond to walk 4 laps as the sun went down. It was beautiful and I had the place to myself.
4. On Wednesday afternoon I had my first ever Mammogram! I was pretty nervous about it and my co-worker had said "it hurts!" which didn't ease my mind at all. But maybe it was good that I was prepared for torture because it ended up being super quick and not bad at all. It felt like a big, grown-up milestone for me.
5. I had another doctor's appointment on Thursday! I went back to Provo to the Women's Center (I had gone on December 21st--happy anniversary) for some necessary unpleasantness. Sometimes it's tricky being a woman! I'm just thankful for a great female PA who is thorough and who "pushed" me into getting my mammogram.
**How was your first week of the new year?
Have you had any women's doctor appointments lately?
Do you ever wear a pedometer?**
Comment Window Tidbit: Wow it's Friday already! I was so busy yesterday that I was moving from 5:10am-9:20pm!

My first week of the new year was pretty awesome. Heard my little turnip's heart beat and got three boxes of American groceries (cereal, crackers, almonds, etc), and a package stuffed with sugary goodness from a friend (which I am munching on as I type this). Yay for doppler machines and mail deliveries!
I kind of have lady dr. appointments every month, thanks to my current condition. The BIG one is in a few weeks, where I will hopefully find out what I'm having. I absolutely can't wait!
I don't wear a pedometer, but I do try to walk around the compound every day. It feels good to move.
Have a great weekend!
That was a super busy day you had.
My first week went pretty well. Jason got his cast off yesterday which was really good, and we found out his ankle is healing very well.
I actually went to my women's dr on Wed! Glad it is over with.
I don't wear a pedometer but Jase is researching on a watch that will track that, my heart rate, and everything else while I exercise.
ha ha! sometimes it IS tricky being a woman. :)
ugh. that last photo brings out the heebie jeebies.
how great that you're walking more! i need to be doing more physical activity now that i'm home- it's just so darn comfy not to. :(
I'm impressed that you went on two walks in one day! Maybe I need a pedometer to get me motivated to move—like Jen said, it is so darn comfy not to...
I'm proud of you for getting your mammogram! That does seem like a grown-up thing to do. A grown-up thing that I need to do myself.
I have heard good things about Dominion, you'll have to tell me about it.
I have a gyn appointment at the end of this month. Her husband is our dentist so I feel like that couple has to address all things uncomfortable for me!
Your are such a dedicated blogger to take a SP at the doctor office.
Your mamogram face pretty much sums up the experience. That is how I feel right before they snap the picture...
I must check out Quiddler and maybe Dominion, they sound fun. We got hooked on Dutch Blitz and then got a little burned out.
Good for your for having your womenses check-ups--even though they are awkward and border on humiliating. We don't have preventative healthcare anymore, so I'm not sure if I'll get those checks this year--(i'll be due for a ck. in May) hopefully Scott will be employed again soon and we'll have full health insurance again.
I don't wear a pedometer, but probably should. Hooray for you!! Good job!
I love how you track your steps with the pedometer - I have had so many pedometers & they have all been crappy! What kind do you have? IT seems the ones I've had either break, or cheat excessively (like give me 15 stepss evertime I sit down, etc.)
I have tried to get into my GYN for months - 3 months- I was hopeful for this week, then got another call to reschedule? brother- but I am not giving up!
first week of the year-- was full of worry. But thankfully hailey made it to school today (huge relief) her misery = my misery.
I guess that's just how it is when you're the mom-
IT'S GOINT TO GET BETTER- I CAN FEEL IT!!!!
11,000 steps a day--that is a great goal.
I despise any kind of gyno appt. It makes me feel so gross.
Wow! I am super impressed with your first week! I have never owned a pedometer. But I really want one of those watch things that tracks my heart rate when I excersise. Such awesome gadgets they have now days!
I need to do some grown-up things like you.
I should get a pedometer. Every time you write about it I think about how I should get one. You upped your goal a thousand steps didn't you?
How has snow passed you guys up this year? Maybe you'll get a big dump in early Spring? This is too weird. So many times since I've come to Texas I've thought, 'I've got to move to Utah for the snow!' Ha, ha. Would have been funny if I had left for that reason...
Oh, lady business. Seriously. I would like to turn in all my parts until I reach a point where I need them. Completely and totally useless to me right now.
