SPT--Grass

I have been loving all these summer-themed SPT topics from Lelly. I love it that those of us who participate in these are documenting all these things we probably wouldn't do otherwise, it's just cool. Thanks Lelly!

I took a picture of my feet in the grass, but my feet tend to show up on my blog an awful lot so I decided to try something else instead. I had to have Whitney help me out with this, but how's this for getting out of the box a bit?

Things I love about grass...
The smell of it when it's freshly cut.
The look of it when it's really green.
The feel of it when it's healthy and soft.
That it gives us someplace nice to sit while in the yard,
at the park, or when attending the kids' sporting events.
It makes for a great play area for the kids.
It's very forgiving, even when not watered often enough.
I enjoy the whole world of bugs that live in it, but that don't really bother me.

**How do you feel about it?
Did you do this SPT?
Have you enjoyed this month's topics?**

I love the grass too and we would have more of it if I had been the yard planner.

Good idea to write the list... now that you have done it can we steal it?

Apparently I don't know you from behind. (Good thing for the uniform!)

I had the same thought when I did mine... to many feet and leg pictures going on lately... how do I find my good side?

I LOVE the grass in Utah... I call it REAL grass. It feels so good on my feet compared to this Florida grass that grows year round. It does not feel good on the feet. I take my shoes off whenever possible and walk on the grass during the summer in Utah.

thinking out of the box is my favorite way to spt. i love this angle - makes me want to be relaxing in the grass right beside you!!

I just can't get enough of freshly cut grass -but I have to say - any other I just can't enjoy! Sitting on grass without a blanket is probably one of the worst things I can think of to do! Crazy I know! I see shana's comment about Utah grass, when we lived on south mountain in utah, I just loved the grass their, perhaps because it was rarely wet and usually freshly cut - here, it's wet most of the time!

I have loved this summers SPT's and after seeing the great post Amie did this morning, I have not given up on doing them! I think it is something well worth documenting!

I LOVE the picture...what a great idea and just looking at it makes me want to find a shady place under a tree to read a good book

And I LOVE grass (even though it makes me sneeze)..just LOVE it !

I have seen lots of references to 'SPT', but I have no idea what it means!! Will someone please take pity on me and visit my blog and let me know what it is?? thank you :o). (I feel a little out of the loop and it sounds so fun!)

I love this backside shot, Jill, and your list. What a great thing to document.

Yes, I've loved Lelly's topics, too. It's amazing to me how many things we find to say about the same thing.

How is this for good timing--reading your grass SPT as I listen to our neighbor's lawn mower humming away?!?

Love your different perspective--very creative.

Grass might be underappreciated, I hope all of these SPTs change that--unless people are allergic I guess.

I have missed doing the last few SPTs--but I enjoy reading them.

I'm gearing up to do this one. Just need a photo! I've liked the summer themed SPT challenges too. It makes for great documentation!

I have really enjoyed Lelly's summer themes. I can't wait for next week.
I think it is wonderful that you didn't use your feet for this picture, not that there is anything wrong with your feet. In fact I used a picture of my foot for my post. Anywho - I like the different perspective. Okay I am going to go now.

I love grass especially when it is nice and cool.

Green grass is too a favorite of mine. It's really sad that AZ lacks it so much. You would think more people would have it to cool down all of the rocky landscapes.

Very cool photo. I also LOVE freshly cut grass, I think most people think I am crazy.

That was a cool vantage point for a self portrait. Your hair is such a great color.

Jill, you're so creative!

I love the picture and the fun list!

I should do SPT, but right now I can barely keep up with my everyday life! Maybe after school starts.

I love grass! I have a bit of guilt about the water it takes to keep it lush and green, and I get very mad when I see people watering during the day.

I adore fresh cut grass, and this year I have learned to mow the lawn (our neighbors in PA mowed ours, and I've never done it before) and I LOVE mowing it!

I love grass. I love to lay in it & read a book or watch my kids play... Your hair is so long & pretty!

This SPT finally brought me back to SPT-ing. Terry in fact reminded me I hadn't been doing it and should check out the challenges again.

Anyway...love that Whitney helped you with this photo. It's a creative shot and I wonder what you're looking out at.

I agree with Shauna, Utah grass is nice. Here we have ticks and they always freak me out now.

I love your list. The smell of fresh cut grass is so nostalgic for me! Do you remember when the Gap first came out with their scents years ago? I remember one of them was grass and they did an amazing job capturing the smell.

I love the picture of the back of you sitting in the grass. Makes me want to sit down and join in.

Great picture! I have loved grass since I moved here and learned that you really can walk and run barefoot in it- that it wasn't just in the movies :)

I like grass outside, but not inside.
And I like it after its all taken care of and looks good.
I don't like it when its overgrown and scraggly, and needs lots of attention.

Like your take on the SPT-
