Remember when I used to sit in my car and read while Whitney was at art class? Well now that I'm a step-counting, pedometer-wearing girl with a goal of 11,000 steps a day I've been using that time to walk. It's funny that I never even considered doing that before, but it's an unfamiliar neighborhood and I like to read so it just didn't occur to me until recently on a day I needed more steps.
I only had 6,318 when I dropped her off at class today, so I drove over to this hill, parked my car and walked. The one flaw in my plan was that I parked at the top of the hill, which meant I had to hike up it when I was tired and ready to be done, but other than that it was great. I had 10,220 when I got back to my car, so I'll easily hit 11,000 by the time I go to bed.
**Have you gone walking recently?**
Comment Window Tidbit: I put myself to bed at 7:20 last night!! I read for an hour but was asleep by 8:30. I felt soooo much better today. I'm like Debbie-Downer when I don't get enough sleep!

Good For You! How exactly do you track it? ?Your phone?
Jill...are you on Pinterest?
H and I are in Florida for a month and have been walking everyday. We are up to an hour each day. It is hard-I just keep putting one foot in front of the other and am so glad to get home. Can't imagine how you get 11,000 steps in. Maybe I will count my steps tomorrow.
I am so impressed wtih your walking!! I have NO idea how many steps I take in a day. What a GREAT idea to walk while you are just waiting! I need to try that!
Impressive. I love reading and having downtime in the car. I THINK about walking....
Ooh, ending any form of exercise at the top of a hill is torture. Way to go!
I try to walk for 30 minutes every day (I figure I can't really eat the fruits and veggies here and I'm probably poisoning my baby with my anti-malaria meds, so this is one of the few healthy/positive things I can control), but the last few days it has been miserable. I think the blissful days of pregnancy are coming to an end for me. :(
I love that you track your steps too. I should really get a pedometer. Might put a spring in my step! I tend to have waiting time during art class too!
I'm impressed! I used to sit in the car and read during Max's cello lessons and it never once occurred to me to get out and take a walk! My chiropractor told me that walking would do wonders for my back, shoulders and neck that are so tight.
I've been waking up in the wee hours for unknown reasons, but yesterday I slept hard until it was time to get up. I felt like I could conquer the world!
I love the pedometer thing! I think it's great that you've found a new way to focus on yourself during a lesson.
