The best restaurant moment for me this year was when the kids and I, along with Betsy, her two boys, and her mom Faye went to a place called Dee-Lite in Grand Haven, Michigan.
We had just spent a few hours at the beach (though it was coldish and more of an "enjoy the scenery" outing) and we were starved. We drove to Grand Haven's very quaint downtown area and walked past cute shops until we got to the restaurant.

Everyone was happy to be there, there was a fire going in the nearby fireplace, and Betsy's son Owen (who was almost 4 at the time) was so enamored with Landon that he was copying everything he did. He ordered Sprite just like Landon did, and would just gaze up in admiration at him.

I took this picture of Owen imitating Landon's walk (complete with his hands in his pockets) on the way to the restaurant. It was just too cute.

I was so happy to be there with my oldest friend and her wonderful mother and sons along with my kids. It's surreal to me sometimes that we have been friends for 24 years and that we are now wives and mothers ourselves. (When will I get used to that?)
Another great thing about this meal was the ginormous piece of cake we all shared for dessert. I love it that Betsy and Faye are dessert connoisseurs and are always keen on ordering something sweet. This piece of cake was so huge (my kids were giddy about it) that we were all able to get our fill. Ahhh good times!
**Do you order dessert very often?
Do you love a dinner out with old friends?
What was your best restaurant moment this year?**
Comment Window Tidbit: Landon is doing pretty well today at home on the couch watching football games and episodes of The Brady Bunch.
