Good Idea

Remember last April when my visiting teachers dropped off a basket of goodies for General Conference? We all were so thrilled with this idea that I thought I would remind us all (even me) so that we can do it this weekend for our visiting teachees. (If you do it please take pictures and document the cuteness for all to see.) FYI: This basket had a notebook, pen, licorice, candy bar and bottle of water.

**Any other fun ideas for Conference weekend?
Are you going to do something like this?
What else would be fun to put in there?**

What a brilliant idea! I had to miss my appointments last week because I was coughing and sneezing (figured no one would want me in their house) and I need a way to make it up to my girl. This is Perfect!! Thanks for the reminder...I am doing this for sure!

I love your fall pictures....there is nothing as pretty as changing fall leaves, a perfect time for family pictures!

I need everyone to do this. I am so bad at filing away all the good ideas and then I can't remember where I saw them. Thanks for the reminder. My sister just adopted a baby so it will be perfect to do something extra.

YAY! You reminded us with plenty of time to act! Thank you. I was already excited when I read the title before the post showed up... I love a good idea.

What a fabulous idea- LOVE it. I will try to do it (though one of my girls just moved and the other is not a member?!)..maybe for some friends. And I'll post about it.
Thanks for sharing.

Great idea to share this again, Jill! I am planning on doing this for my visiting teachees and also my kids. I'm going to make cute composition books (probably on Friday!). I have been searching for conference activities to put in for the kids (I just searched on google) and I'm going to put in some other quiet activities and treats. I'm excited!

Thanks Jill! Cute idea I will use. I am also going to add conference bingo for the kids. You can google "Conference Bingo" for several links. Theideadoor.com has several activity pages for conference, and their bingo card is good: http://www.theideadoor.com/PDF%20Files/Primary/GENCONFBINGO.pdf

I think this is a great idea. The kids got a conference bingo card and a packet of M&M's for conference from Primary last week. I thought that was great! I would put in conference bingo cards/paper (enough for all the littles of that home...) candy markers, cinnamon rolls for breakfast? Or a large fun box of sugar cereal? Pen/pencils and notebooks for each little. (they have packets of three for $1 now at Target in the dollar section...)
Thanks for the reminder!

Love this idea! Thank you so much for sharing it before conference. I am going to head out today and put baskets together for my sisters. I have spent the morning posting some VT and other ideas on my blog now I'll need to add this.

I second what Elizabeth said...I love when people post ideas on blogs and then repost them at the appropriate time (like a conference idea before conference) it is so much easier to find the good ideas.

Thanks for sharing.

Darling idea--I vaguely remember that. What a great act of service. My girlfriend just emailed me an awesome packet for kids. It has tons of activities.

In fact, thanks for the reminder I have it on my email and need to print it. Our primary presidency also gave each of the kids a packet to work on.

My roommate and I are going to paint this DI mirror that's been sitting in our living room for a month and I think I'm going to eat cookies and scrapbook!

Jill,

Thanks for the idea and reminder. A friend just emailed me the coolest conference booklet that you can print off and put together for your kids to do during Conference. It's got stuff for all ages and is like 18 pages worth of activities. I think I'll print some off for the kids of the gals I VT!

What a fun idea, my sister in law just emailed me a fun packet of kids activities to help keep them busy and watch conference that was really fun. If you want me to forward it to you I would be happy to. Email me at wendemoore@yahoo.com.
Sorry, I should intro myself, my blog is wendethemom.blogspot.com and I am great friends with Patsy who loves you and kept bugging me to check out your blog. I was so glad I did, you have such fun ideas and you make me feel so normal! I also have always loved good mail and was happy to find others that love it too! Today you inspired me to write my mom a longer over due "just because" note and it made my day, I know it will make hers too! Happy Day Jill - Wende

I think this is a great idea. I especially love when they put trivia questions for the kids- you know like, "How many times did they talk about (blank)?" or other games with names of apostles, etc. Funny that I keep forgetting Conference is this weekend since we don't see it until next week. I like watching it online and reading the Ensign issue the best- I get more out of it that way. Enjoy your weekend.

What a good idea. A cozy pair of socks would be a good addition. I think for Conference, we're going to go up Spanish Fork canyon to a cabin and watch conference and enjoy the colors. All things good.
