I'm not sure if I've mentioned it yet, but my life has gotten quite hectic lately and I'm not sure how I'm holding up. Part of me thinks I'm doing great, because I've caught on so well to my new job and love how fast the time flies at work because I'm so busy. But then another part of me feels like the house is a wreck and that if I didn't have a 3-day weekend to catch up I might completely lose my mind...but other than that I'm great!
I've taken to using the camera on my phone to document any tidbits lately because that's all I have with me. Even then I rarely think of it because I'm so busy while at work. I did take a moment to document my great new mug (T.J. Maxx $3) with my cute "J" pencils (courtesy of Michelle) in it. Previously my pencil holder was an ugly, black, plastic cup so this is a 100% improvement and the only bit of personality I have on my desk space since my desk is really the whole school's desk. Surprisingly no one has swiped my cute pencils!
I have been so busy that I haven't really been able to stop for lunch. I can sometimes eat a string cheese and some wheat thins at my desk, but even that is done one at a time when I get a chance, so the other day when I got home (with a raging headache) I fled to the cozy and ate my lunch then.
I was able to sneak in a couple 15-minute lunch breaks in my car this week and enjoyed the peaceful moments of reading, though I feel like I can still hear the phone ringing in my head and had to check to make sure I wasn't still wearing my earpiece since I always have it on. Craziness.
The good news is that yesterday when I was dropping Whitney off for orchestra I pulled in next to a friend from church and it turns out her daughter is in Whitney's class (but hadn't been there on Tuesday so we didn't know) and we're going to carpool! This is so great, now Whitney will take her viola to school with her on Tuesdays and Thursdays then catch a ride with them after school and I can come home from work and be home for an hour and 15 minutes before it's my turn to pick them up. This is a huge improvement and gift in my life. Woohoo!
**How was your week?
Is your house a wreck?
What are you doing for the 3-day weekend?
What's your snack of choice?**
Comment Window Tidbit: My nice camera has been having trouble for awhile now but I've been able to turn it off and then on again when it acts up to get it to work, but yesterday at Landon's soccer game I think it gave up the ghost for real! I called a repair shop and it's going to cost $180 for the new part...I don't see that happening any time soon.

Missy!!!!So sad to hear about the camera.....really??? You really sound busy and that is very good just stop and take your lunch, because that is very important...in order for you to function well, and not get headaches...if you don't make the time now, it is not going to happen....Congratulations on your iphone and wow....sounds like you are doing superb!
Ahh, that is a huge bummer about your camera!
I am so grateful for carpools. Blake has such issues about asking friends to carpool so I have to threaten him.
This week has been long. Ryan has been sick all week and he is not an easy patient. He used to be but as he has gotten older it just wears me down.
I don't like the idea of you not eating lunch. That sounds like a headache just waiting to happen! But I am glad that the time goes quickly at work. There's nothing worse than twiddling your thumbs with nothing to do.
My house always seems to be a wreck to some degree or another, but I'm working on that...
My snack of choice is m&ms or cookies; but string cheese has to fill the bill now (until dinner time, of course).
You know how I feel about the camera. I think it is a necessary repair, just like a car repair.
Welcome to cell phone photography, my only means of documentation as well. I am just hoping one of these days camera phones will be just as amazing as real cameras because I am so over deluding myself that I will ever get in the habit of lugging a camera around. I barely remember my brain when I leave the house.
Oh crap! Have you called Kews in Provo? They are great for cameras.
I'm glad work goes by so quickly. And my house has been in a state of disarray for about 5 years now. I just did not want to clean during the precious hours I was home. I recently went part time and am very excited about it.
And that is so awesome that you have someone to carpool with.
Ps you should get the instagram app. It is a photo sharing app. I like it for daily life tidbits.
This is horrible news about your camera! I would call around and see if you can find a better price..?
Fun to see your desk and such!
My week was crazy - too many meetings... My house is always clean for about a period of time each day...
My snack of choice? If I need something healthy I will do cheese and wheat thins or cheese and an apple. Otherwise, chocolate is always great!
Plans for the weekend - FAMILY...
Have a great weekend!
Go. Go, Jill, go. I am so happy you are enjoying your job that keeps you on the go. It would be a travesty if it kept you on the go and you didn't like it.
I love your pencil mug. I hope you keep us posted how long the 'J' pencils last in it.
I do hate the cost of repairs. Not pleasant at all. Good thing you got an iphone for emergencies.
That stinks about your camera!
My week has been crazy! With the hurricane, no power or water for 2 days, no phone for 5 days, it was just strange! My house is a wreck because my kids have still been home, and they are eating ALL.THE.TIME!!! I really hope school does start on Tuesday, because if it doesn't, I don't know what I'm going to do! This weekend we are still cleaning up the yard from the storm damage and cleaning the house. Maybe we will hit the beach on Monday.
Bummer about the camera!
That mug is adorable.
People around us aren't very good about carpooling and that annoys me.
I cannot skip lunch, I need food too much. I can go without sleep but not food! My co-workers tease me because 9 times out of 10 I bring lunch from home but that's how I like it.
I am so glad you are liking the new job! What a blessing...and carpool is a lifesaver!!
super cute mug...small personal touches make a huge difference.
I could not believe how busy you were when I was at the school last week. I can see how you might miss your lunch break or even have a headache. My house is a wreck as well. So glad that I have this 3 day weekend to get some things in order. Along with a chore chart for the kiddos to follow.
