Some Thoughts
- We only have 2.5 days left of school and I'm feeling every minute of them...I am so ready to be done. It feels like a major victory to have made it through another year working in the front office of a junior high with almost 2000 kids, I'm exhausted.
- The weather has been so nice I feel guilty if I'm not outside. But I don't really know what to do with myself outside. I have grand visions for an amazing yard but lack the funds and know-how to make that happen...I guess we'll continue to baby step our way along.
- My version of savoring the weather is to read under the canopy of the amazing trees in our front yard, I'm fond of my version.
- Whitney and I may be getting colds at the same time.
- I have 8 hours of church ahead of me tomorrow and I'm not happy about it.
- I wish dinner wasn't an issue every stinkin day.
- If I read in the cozy at this time of day (6:00pmish) I am bound to doze off for an unauthorized, point-of-no-return type nap, so I must not go there.
- I helped Lori acquire two kittens this week (from a neighbor of ours) and it's killing Whitney.
- When I'm at work all I can think about is how much other stuff I could be working on at home, but when I'm at home I often don't want to do anything at all. It's a problem.

Miscellaneous Monday
Whitney and her friend Madison spent over an hour creating a 3 page document (including photos) with arguments for getting a cat. Randy and I looked over the papers and found them amusing, but then I found them in the medicine cabinet the next morning...subtle. If only Whitney could apply her determination and creativity to keeping her room clean I might consider her request for a cat (outside cat).
Every morning I go into the kids' room flip on the lights, turn off the fan (white noise) and say "good morning sunshine", and this is what Whitney looks like after all of that.
I thought these chairs (which are being retired) from school made for a cool photo.
Thank you birds!
Whitney dropped a hair clip down her bathroom drain the other day, so Randy unhooked the pipe underneath and found all of this grossness! No wonder the sink has been running so slow!
Landon has been working on thank you notes for those who helped with his Eagle Project. I am very happy about this and love it that he wrote substantial notes not just a 2 line thank you.

Miscellany
Now that the weather is nicer lots of kids are riding their long boards to school; of course they don't fit in their lockers so we let them keep them in the nurses office...we don't love it.
This lovely ceramic project was found in the hall last week. I thought it was hilarious! I kept it on my desk for a little while before having an office aide deliver to the ceramics teacher.
Someone turned in this little notebook with the random musings of a 7th grade girl, too cute.
My visiting teacher gave me this bookmark as a little boost during last week's camp stress.
Bookclub gathered Friday night to celebrate Jana's birthday.
The YW sold corsages for Mother's Day so I had a whole lot of orchids at my house for day.
Dandelions are pretty right?
Michelle and I met for lunch and pedicures on Saturday! It was an unexpected treat (i.e., I sent a text in the morning and things actually worked out) and made Mother's Day weekend great.
Whitney had her last soccer game of the season and the best thing about it was the cat on a leash sitting next to me.
Our family gathered to celebrate Mother's Day and Adam entertained us as usual.

Women's Conference--Sort Of
The week of BYU Women's Conference always seems to come with major life busyness, and this year was super crazy because Eva was getting baptized on Saturday and Landon's Eagle Project was the same day.
We weren't going to go at all, except that we had one really good reason...Collette was teaching a class!
Shazaam! Collette spoke for 30 minutes to a room full of 1600 women. She was awesome!!
Michelle's notebook came illustrated by Eva.
Bookclub support for Collette, minus Amy who was in Paris and just couldn't make it.
Our self-portrait for the day.
Jenn met up with her sister Angela to get her baby for the afternoon, she's the ultimate baby whisperer.
Michelle and I had a good lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (though it was a huge blow to discover they're a Pepsi establishment...ew).

Tidbits
The 6th graders at Whitney's school put on a Renaissance Fair for all the students. Whitney has been looking forward to doing this for years! Her group made an Apothecary booth and each contributed over 100 items to sell for a .25 each.
I thought they had the best looking booth full of clever items.
Whitney got called into the principal's office this week because she was awarded "The Student of the Week". This came with a coupon for a free meal at Cafe Rio, oh la la.
My secret pal gave me this strange item. I have never seen this sort of thing before and thought it was funny and weird.
My mom, Randy and I roasted ourselves at Whitney's soccer game last Saturday (I got super sun burned on my pasty-white legs).
We had a family party to celebrate Robyn and Olivia's birthdays.
Landon is still the sweetest guy ever.
Amie brought Cafe Rio for a tasty car lunch this week.
Michelle surprised me by showing up with dessert for Wendy and I, which was very unexpected and nice.
I caught Landon walking by the office; I consider Landon-sightings a perk of my job.
Landon and I went to the high school to register him for his classes for next year! This was a bit daunting at first but he got everything he wanted so we were thrilled.
Lori and I went to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point on Monday. It was perfect weather and we spent 2 hours wandering around enjoying it.
This is one of my favorite photos from our wanderings, but I have many more I love.
My mom and I froze our nards off at Whitney's soccer game on May 1st! It has snowed earlier in the day and then was super windy and cold. We had dressed for the weather but still froze!
